The Mac/Zune Girl Mystery Part 2 (VMware Fusion)

On my earlier post The Mac/Zune Mystery Part 1, I spoke how I was able to run Zune on my Mac with Parallels. Since then, I was able to try another type of virtual machine, VMware Fusion. With Fusion you are not only able to run XP, but also Linux. I have been using Fusion for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. Fusion does an amazing job at making it feel as if XP was integrated with your OSX.

With Fusion I am able to have my Zune software on my dock for easy access! Just click it and start playing. I like to keep my music organized and in one place. So, my music library is on the XP side. When I download music from IODA Promonet, I like it to be in my XP Music Folder. Problem: I download it on OSX side and I have to transfer it to my XP. How Is this solved? Simple! On Fusion you are able to access all your programs and folders with a simple right-click to the VMware Fusion Icon. I open my My Music folder and drag! You can also have your Windows bar (as shown on the first image), so you can access all your stuff that way, but right-clicking is the way to go for a clutter-free desktop.

When connecting my Zune, I can connect and disconnect it on the Fusion menu. Same with any other type of peripherals. I can basically tell it if I want it to connect on my OSX side or XP side. Fusion is completely intuitive and it runs very smoothly. Something else I totally love is that I am able to use my Mac shortcuts on XP. I can use all my command shortcuts on my XP! I highly recommend this software to run your Zune, or any other XP application you may want to run on your mac. The software is $79.99.

Black Moth Super Rainbow come from deep within the woods of Western Pennsylvania. An actual, 5-member band not comprised of the expected laptops and sequencers, BMSR is a psyche-pop group in early ’70s electronic clothing. Sometimes the songs feel like pagan rituals in a sugarcoated fairyland. Other times they’re like sad thoughts on the happiest days. All played and lovingly assembled by real people with real hands. BMSR lives and makes music in their own lollipop neon folktale world.
