Zune Community Interview with ZuneMax

Tell us who you are and what you do?
My name is Alfred and I own and operate ZuneMAX.com. I have been working from home building and marketing websites for a few years and I practically live online these days. I enjoy my work and our Zune community has been a lot of fun for me. I am looking forward to much more from it.

What are some of the Features ZuneMax has?
I’m very excited about what Zune MAX offers our community and even a little proud of myself for what I’ve been able to do with this site. ZuneMAX.com started out a simple webpage but quickly evolved to include a load of features unlike most other Zune sites yet. Integrating open source software like Wordpress.org for the front page blog and Simple Machines Forum for the blog using one member login was pretty cool at first but we’ve taken things further now.

Our forums now also feature the Zune chat rooms as well as the new Zune Photo Gallery under the same member account. Zune fans like you can load custom skins and wallpapers and other members can rate them using yet another awesome open source application named Coppermine. We also have the Zune Directory and Link exchange and of course the Zune store where you can buy much more than Zune players and accessories which makes us the most complete Zune portal online.

What are some of the plans for the future of Zunemax?
The Zune is about sharing and so is Zune MAX. We have quite a talented community of artists and musicians that love to express themselves and we hope to inspire and support them all to share their love of music, movies and games with each other. Now that Zune is here we can focus on the content for the players and I’m looking forward to working with artists to bring new music to our community. Our goal is to be more like the MySpace of the Zune community where musicians come to share their music with fans from around the world.

Why Zune?
I found out about Zune on July 11 in this announcement at NamePros.com and I took a chance it would be cool. In August I found a document that not too many people talk about yet but which I believe holds the future of Zune. As I found out more about it I began to realize that Zune really is much more than one music player. Microsoft has some rather ambitious plans and I’m glad I was able to learn of them in time to prepare for Zune launch.

Have you always been Pro-Microsoft?
No. I have never been Pro Microsoft and I most likely never will be fully and completely a Microsoft fan. I’m a fan of Open Source Software and I believe it is testament to what mankind is capable of when we come together for a common and just cause. Microsoft is a corporation and far more concerned with the bottom line and their stock values then they are with people. I use their products because they function as I need them to but I’m not a fanboy of any kind.

What is you favorite thing about the Zune?
The community has been the best part. Zune fans are lots of fun and I have truly enjoyed meeting so many new people looking for something more for their music. Zune has brought me back to music which regrettably I seem to have lost for some time now and I am most excited about the potential Zune holds for me to meet new people and hear new music. I like the Zune pass actually. I’ve heard some great new music I know I never would have heard without it.

Where do you see the zune community in the next year?
Oh I think it will be a year of ups and downs. I’m sorry to say that Zune may have a rough road ahead. I think it’s getting a bad rap in the press and Microsoft has some work cut out for themselves. It will take some time but Zune will come around. I think they need to WOW us with updates and by next holiday it will be a serious contender in the DAP Market.

For us, ZuneMAX.com will be there until the very end. I’m committed to supporting our community and I have every intention of watching it grow into the largest most diverse Zune community there is. ZuneMAX.com is about sharing music, movies and more with friends who care and we’ll be here as long as Zune is.

Thanks alot Al! Dont forget to go and check out ZuneMax!
