Snippet Bio: The first country American Idol and Grammy Awards winner, Carrie Underwood grew up in the small town of Checotah, Okla. Her interested in music started at an early age. Throughout her childhood, the singer performed at her local church, as well as at functions for the Lion’s Club, Old Settlers Day, and festivals at several states. She also learned how to play guitar and piano.

Snippet Bio: New York’s Coheed and Cambria officially began in 2001, although the band originally formed as a trio called Shabutie in 1995. After performing a poppy metal/indie rock sound for many years, they decided to shift gears and, in the process, changed their name. Their first conceptual album, 2002’s The Second Stage Turbine Blade, was picked up by Equal Vision Records and features a guest appearance by Bad Brains guitarist Dr. Know.

Snippet Bio: Vocalist Karl Hyde and guitarist Rick Smith formed Underworld in the early ’80s during the new wave explosion. After a couple of unsuccessful albums, the duo hit it big after adding a young DJ named Darren Emerson to the mix. The trio’s debut album, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, appeared in late 1993 to critical acclaim and was released in the U.S. by TVT records in 1995.

Scissors For Lefty are an indie pop/rock/pop band based in San Francisco. Band members Bryan Garza (Vocals, Guitar), Peter Krimmel (Keyboards, Guitar), James Krimmel (Bass, Drums), Robby Garza (Guitar, Bass) and Steve Garza (Bass) met in San Luis Obispo and now reside in San Francisco. According to the band, they “worked (their) asses off”, and “burn the candle from all angles, in order to afford living in this contagious city”. They released their debut album, Bruno, in 2005. Their sophomore album, “Underhanded Romance,” was released on June 12th, 2007 on Rough Trade Records.
