Snippet Bio: Rogue Wave was formed in 2002 when Zach Rogue took off from his San Francisco home, headed for New York, and came home with nearly a full album’s worth of songs recorded. Rogue then quit his post in his previous group, the Desoto Reds, and finished the album, which was released on Rogue’s own Responsive label under the title of Out of the Shadow.

Snippet Bio: Originally from New Zealand, Natasha Bedingfield grew up in southeast London, where she and her siblings were raised around music. By their teens, Natasha, brother Daniel, and sister Nikola had formed an R&B-based singing group. It didn’t last, but the experience encouraged the Bedingfields to keep pursuing music.

Snippet Bio: Though Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel (born Juan Morera and Llandel Vegilla) were around for some time (their debut album, Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, was released in 2000) and gained fans and recognition with records like 2004’s De Otra Manera and 2005’s Mi Vida: La Pelicula, it wasn’t until Pa’l Mundo hit the number one Latin album spot on the Billboard charts that they began to be recognized outside the Spanish-speaking community.

Snippet Bio: Vocalist Karl Hyde and guitarist Rick Smith formed Underworld in the early ’80s during the new wave explosion. After a couple of unsuccessful albums, the duo hit it big after adding a young DJ named Darren Emerson to the mix. The trio’s debut album, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, appeared in late 1993 to critical acclaim and was released in the U.S. by TVT records in 1995.
